Building Update (from Myron Escovitz)
If you have a chance, the next time you pass by the Shul, look through the grating in the fence. It’s now easy to see how close we are to completion. You’ll see the drywall and insulation close to being done. Internally, as I mentioned previously, the electrical, plumbing, and roofing were done. By the end of next week, the drywall and plaster should be completed. Some of this week’s challenges included coordinating a meeting between our contractor, designer, and the finish committee. The designer presented her finish schedule, and arrangements were made for everything to be ordered. Our security company began their work, and the phone and Internet wiring were started (thanks to prodding by our computer expert, Aaron Gross). With less than 4 weeks remaining until Rosh Hashanah, we certainly have our work cut out for us.
Mark Magid Shiur Bullet Points – Sefer Yonah (4:9,10)
• In 4:4 and 4:9, Hashem asked Yonah, “Are you so deeply grieved…?” Why was the first question rhetorical and not the second?
• How does Hashem use the kikayon in a kal v’chomer argument?
• What is the point that Hashem is trying to make by stressing the fact that the kikayon lasted only one day?
Membership Packets
We have sent the membership packets asap (in addition to the bi-monthly calendars) via email. If someone would like good old fashioned hard copies mailed to them, please call the shul office! You should have received your membership packets last week right before Shabbos. Contact me at rkershberg@pobox.com if you did not receive yours.
Kiddish Committee (KC) Payment Policies
Absent prior arrangements, Kiddush or Shalosh Seudah are provided only after funds are given directly to a member of the Kiddush Committee at least 3 days before the event.
