Dear Anshe Emes Member/Supporter,
It’s been quite a year at Anshe Emes! Anshe Emes continues to be there for our Kehilla and larger community, B”H. We are looking forward to continuing our many successful shiurim and programs in the coming year.
Here’s some of what’s been going on at Anshe Emes:
- Special guest speaks Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky, Rabbi Y.Y. Rubinstein, and Rabbi Daniel Glatstein
- Our new childcare program, thank you Sheina Gilbert and the staff
- Legal Holiday shiurim by Rabbi Harris
- Our regularly updated website, anshe.org, and our Whatsapp group chat
- The Anshe Emes / Pico-Robertson Keilim Mikveh
- Emessaries – an email which keeps people up to date about the latest at Anshe Emes
- Community Tisha B’Av program
- Security remodeling including higher and stronger fencing, lockdown doors and security cameras.
- Parsha/Tanach shiur after Kiddush\
- And, of course, our unparalleled daily, weekly, and periodic special shiurim
As we begin the next year, we need your help to ensure that 5785 is an even more successful year!
We need your financial support, especially in these difficult times, to allow us to continue our outstanding program¬ming and the day-to-day activities of the Shul. Here is a link for membership and Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur tickets: https://forms.gle/guBfNdFJyoCbqjez8. We ask that you fill it out no later than September 22nd, and either send in a check or pay with credit card on the shul’s website, www.anshe.org/membership. Anshe Emes can no longer afford to carry outstanding balances; therefore, if we do not receive payment at the time that your membership forms are submitted, we will not be able to issue you tickets for the Yamim Noraim. (Postdated checks and credit cards are also acceptable).
Please get your reservations in early as seats on the Women’s side are at a premium. Seats are on a first come first serve basis.
Membership is available to everyone regardless of economic status. If you are in need of special assistance, please contact Kendra Fuchs at kendra@anshe.org or call the office Mon-Fri 1-3 PM at (310) 275-5640 and a member of our Finance Committee will contact you.
If you need a hard copy or any other assistance please contact the office .
I would also like to ask everyone to make a donation of at least $54 to the upkeep of the Los Angeles City Eruv. This is only a little more than $1 each Shabbos. Since Anshe Emes and a number of our members are the driving force behind it, we need to make a strong show of support. Please make a SEPARATE check out to LACE, and enclose it with your membership. It is completely tax deductible.

U-teshuvah u-tefillah u-tzedakah ma’avirin et roa hagezerah. Penitence, prayer and charity can avert the evil decree.
Yizkor Pledge – I pledge a donation for Yizkor.
G’Mach – I want to help provide short-term financial assistance to people in the community with financial needs by contributing to the Rebbetzin P. Leibowitz G’mach/free loan fund.
Discretionary Fund – For Rav Summers’ use to help the needy.
General – I want to contribute to Anshe Emes so that it can continue to bring Torah to the community. I do not care what the funds are used for.
Dues – Make a full or partial membership dues payment.
